Sports Massage
A sports massage is a type of therapy geared toward athletes and the particular stresses they place on their bodies. This therapy incorporates all the massage modalities in a variety of sequences. Often considered rigorous, sports massage is very thorough and it may take several sessions to work the entire body. In addition, just working specific quadrants in the body can also be healing and satisfying.
This type of therapist is trained in applying techniques to help prevent injuries, prepare the body for athletic activity and maintain it in optimal condition. In addition, athletes will be able to recover from workouts and injuries and cool down after exertion. Their overall performance will be enhanced.
Participants in regular physical activity enjoy this modality once or twice a week. This enables the therapist to prepare the muscles for a variety activities, especially skiing in Aspen!
All athletes will benefit from specifically designed massage.
This massage treatment produces heightened flexibility, prevents injuries, and improves endurance. It is best to come relaxed and with specific goals. Working out prior to the massage/bodywork is not recommended.
We also suggest a nice walk, hot tub or epsom salt bath afterwards. This is highly recommended.
In addition to sports massage, we offer swedish massage and other types of body massage, for those who want to feel completely relaxed.
